Market Research

There are over 140 million Farsi-speaking people in the world, primarily located in Iran and Afghanistan. There are also large Farsi-speaking populations in many major world cities.

Approximately 31 Farsi language video channels are currently available via satellite. However, the amount of content appealing to children and the family audience is limited to 2-3 channels. Tooka

TV will attract and engage this under-served audience.

Marketing Plan

Marketing Tooka TV will be aggressively branded to potential advertisers and family audiences. Sales management and account executives will be hired as part of our seed funding process. Social media placements will be used to promote and generate interest and gain additional household viewers. Cutting-edge graphics, sensitive to cultural mores will be created to enhance the Tooka TV brand and reach primary commercial buyers in both US, Middle East, Asian and European markets.

Iran’s online advertising landscape has seen tremendous changes in recent years. Adro, an Iranian ad exchange platform recently proclaimed that digital ad spending in Iran is expected soon to be more than $53 million. Tehran, the capital – with a population of 12.5 million, is one-third larger than New York City. In 2020, digital advertising in Iran accounted for approximately 20% of the media marketing mix amounting to approximately $2.13 billion.

Internet Streaming

In order to reach expatriate Farsi-speaking audiences outside the footprint of our satellite broadcasts in cities throughout the world, we will simulcast our primary Tooka TV programming as streaming video on the internet. This will also make the channel content available on computers, digital tablets, phones, and other portable devices. Even inside Iran, over 60% of households have access to the internet.

Television Market in Iran

According to a recent study by Tehran University on the media consumption habits of average Iranians, despite the Internet’s steady rise in popularity over the last few years, television remains the dominant medium in most Iranian households. The recent COVID-19 pandemic has increased television viewers across the globe. On average the general Iranian population spends over three and a half hours a day in front of the TV, making it one of the most common modern leisure activities.

Television is the leading medium. The state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting – IRIB – operates national and provincial services. Its international networks include English-language Press TV. The most-watched domestic network is IRIB’s youth channel. Tooka TV aims to reach that audience with kinder, gentler and more entertaining programs.

Despite a ban on using satellite equipment, foreign TV programs are widely watched, and this is largely tolerated by the authorities. Dozens of Persian-language satellite TV channels currently broadcast from the USA, Europe and Dubai.

Internet Marketing

Tooka TV has already reserved several web domain names appropriate to our brand. We will soon have websites active along with a presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other social media platforms. In addition to streaming our primary Tooka TV content on the web worldwide, we will also use the internet for interactive communication with our audience for marketing and promotion, contests, supplemental programming, etc.

Competitive Edge

Very few programs are currently being broadcast to the child and youth audiences in Iran. With specific promotional targeting towards this audience, we should enjoy a strong competitive edge and a dynamic increase in market share.

Operations

The extensive broadcast experience of our management team will be supplemented by some of the most experienced minds in the Farsi television industry.
